Oh no, I haven't posted here in five six months! I'm sure anyone that gets this entry on their friends list will be going "Who the hell is this person and how did they get on my friends list?" I'm going to make it my goal to post here at least once a month. And draw everyday. And it'd probably be good for me to do some gesture drawings everyday too. (Ahahaha, like that's going to happen.)

College is being a bitch. Last semester was very busy (At least I think it was. It's all kind of a blur now) which is partly why I didn't post here. This semester looks like it will be a bit calmer since I can't seem to enroll in enough fucking classes to have a full schedule. Everywhere I turn classes are full, and I had to drop the class that I thought was my last hope. D:< I have no clue what I'm going to do.

To end on a happier note, I'm finally taking a life drawing class. I'm so excited to finally be learning about the human figure.

I started the pokemonathon challenge about a year ago and I haven't gotten very far in it yet but I've got a lot of not-so-great things going on right now so I thought I'd post some of what I've done so far to distract me. I've actually wanted to post my progress here for a long time, I just never got around to it. :/

Lately I've been going to this random word generator and having it spit two words at me and I try to draw something illustrating the phrase. It's actually a good exercise to get myself drawing something that's not fan art. The title of this entry is my favorite phrase I've got so far.

Ahhh, summer classes suck. Only two weeks left though. Then it's two weeks of break, and then fall semester starts. ;.;

I just finished listening to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I love Marvin the Paranoid Android.

Oops, almost two months since I updated this. And I was planning to keep up with all my sketches and everything. I haven't really been doodling much lately because of work but there may be an increase in sketching soon because I start summer classes on Monday. (Doodling help me remember things better, I swear! XD )

I actually completed the 100 sketches in thirty days challenge. I finished with 83 sketches in my sketchbook and 17 digital sketches. I won't post them all because I never want to see some of them ever again, but here are eleven of them for now. They're all just pencil sketches because I suck. I feel really sick right now.

This isn't even half of the sketches I've done since. I decided to take on a "do 100 sketches in thirty days" challenge. I'm on day 17, and only half way through, so we'll see how far I get. None of these drawings are from the challenge, actually. I don't know if I'm going to post all of those. I'm rambling on here because the preview image doesn't display correctly in Internet Explorer unless the text is at least 180 pixels tall. I hate IE.

I made a new layout for my journal! It was edited (with permission) from a layout by komorebii, and features the largest header I think I've ever made. My logic is others probably won't be looking at it/using it very often so I went for prettiness over function. My last layout lasted two years, but LJ decided to do away with S1 type layouts so all that work it took to figure out how to make them is gone. T.T

True story. Not that I have anything against them personally, it's just that the exact same Jehovah's Witnesses have been visiting us for over ten years. Yeah. Kinda creepy.

I was sick the other night and I couldn't sleep, so I found some of my (really) old sketchbooks and was looking through them. I felt like drawing, but I didn't feel like thinking, so I redrew some of my old characters and sketches. If you put some of my new drawings next to my old drawings, they tend to look 10,000 times better than they would on their own. :D It makes me feel better than I should.

While I'm getting better at using acrylics, I still can't gauge how much paint I'll need to squeeze out of the tube, so I always end up with a ton of left over paint. This results in Leftover Paint Doodles and much wasting of time.

I figure it's about time I use this journal for something other than lurking on communities as I haven't added a new entry in over a year. >.>() I don't think I'll use it as a writing journal because
a.) I never update it
b.) I use my DeviantArt journal
c.) Nobody wants to read my irate rantings. (Trust me, you don't.)
I want to try using it as a doodle journal. I already use my DA scraps for line art, character sketches and works in progress, but I have tons of doodles I don't want to put there that still amuse me. So ... we'll see how long this lasts.
